Bird Abatement Falconer

“Falconry Bird Abatement” is used in Agriculture, Airports, Hospitals, Industrial Facilities, and Retail Shops worldwide.  Falconers are employed to fly trained Raptors to scare off pest birds.  In the United States, a Bird Abatement company must have a Special Purpose – Abatement Using Raptors Permit issued by the USFWS.   Abatement is effective in every instance where i-Pro Pest Control has been involved.  Falconry Based Bird Abatement is quiet, discrete, organic, eco-friendly, and sustainable. The objective is to scare them off the property rather than to kill the nuisance birds.

Falconry Based Bird Control elicits a predator-prey response in nuisance birds. It involves minimal casualties and does not involve poisons.

Sparrows & Starlings in Structures

Sparrows and Starlings often infest structures.  They usually congregate for food or around nesting spots.  Both sparrows and starlings often make nests in broken pipe insulation, breaks in metal siding, and holes in concrete walls.   They can also get in the soffit of roofs.  Removing the food and barricading or sealing up their nest spots after cleaning, sanitizing, and treating bird mites will usually solve the problem.  We have done this work for many years.

Why should one consider controlling birds and their feces?

  • Cleaning up their feces can be extremely expensive;
  • Agriculture loses tons of money to pest birds consuming Ag Products,
  • They are a nuisance.
  • Their feces can harbor viral and bacterial agents that can cause human and animal illness. Ordinarily, the symptoms of these diseases range from headache, fatigue, and cough to a painful death.
  • They carry bird mites, which attack a certain percent of the human population with their sharp bites.
  • Not only do pest birds in high number seem to bring about an air of nastiness, but they are incredibly smelly and ugly.

We Provide a Solution

For each location, i-Pro Pest Control:

  • Creates an individualized plan that is specific to three key aspects of each location.
    • the species of birds
    • the structural layout
    • How habituated the birds are to that roost
  • Behavior modifications are made using devices that will work for the species and structures. Timing is critical. Incorrect timing will only confound the birds and situation. Correct timing is also vital.
  • Falconry-based bird abatement has years of experience implementing this and will reduce flock sizes to about 90%.

At extensive facilities, i-Pro Pest Control starts by using behavior modification devices. Later, the falconers return to reinforce these behavior modification tactics with hawks or falcons. After two or three weeks, the difference is noticeable. Flock reduction is most often around 90%

i-Pro Pest Control does NOT Use Avian Poisons or Avian Birth Control!

We, as a people, must work to promote a world that better supports birds. Recent research publications declare the United States has lost over 30% of its birds or over 3 billion birds. The significant causes of bird decline are increased land use for humans, feral cats, and pesticide use.

Despite claims, birth control and poisons end up in the raptor. This happens when the raptor eats a prey bird’s crop that contains the raw poisoned feed. Any time a raptor eats a prey bird, it will consume its heart and crop.

i-Pro Pest Control provides non-chemical means of pest bird removal. And it seems much more effective than shotgun shells and troughs of poisoned birdseed. Check out this video of Barricading, Trapping, Bird Abatement, and harassment.
